Spinsigns for Property Agents and Developers

Forget clumsy V Boards. Spinsigns are less costly, re-useable, safer and more attractive. They stand out a full metre for maximum impact within the Regulations (741mm X 670mm = 0.5 sq m [residential], 741mm X 900mm = 0.67 sq m [recommended for commercial]). Spinsigns are designed for 4mm u.v. protected high grade Correx type boarding. With quick change boards the property can be promoted as 'For Sale' to 'Under Offer' to 'Sold' as quickly as the market will allow. Additional holders are available for changing campaigns. Just speak to your supplier or contact us.

Spinsigns Printing, Special Boards and Design Options

Suppliers may offer screen printing, vinyl lettering and full colour sign printing to meet your exact requirements. Consider different sizes and shapes to create the greatest impact.

Spinsigns move in a slight breeze and become more active as the wind increases. These swinging signs will spin full circle on occasion and constantly catch the eye.

Spinsigns are designed to cater for 4mm high grade u.v. protected high grade Correx type board. The maximum recommended board area is 0.67 sq m (740 mm X 900 mm) for exposed locations. 40mm of the board is held by the hanger with the ribbing always at 90 degrees to the hanger.

Spinsigns Specification

Spinsigns come complete with:

Bracket - (300mm base) for fixing to the wall, groove uppermost. This is essential as the bracket is designed to lift the board slightly above horizontal for the ultimate effect. The groove is needed to help fix the pole when changing boards. Four 13mm head fixing bolts and plugs are provided.

Pole with removable end cap and pin - (1m. max. length). The fixed end of the pole is hidden behind the bracket. The linch pin allows for boards to be changed during campaigns once the pole has been secured by placing a screwdriver for example in the bracket groove aligned with the hole in the pole.

Hanger - (approx. 741mm wide). This comes complete with five 8mm nylon bolts for secure board fixing. Hangers are available separately for changing boards for campaigns or perhaps flags and festive banners when required.

Fixing instructions are provided with each Spinsign. The Spinsign design is Registered GB0223129.8. The Patent reference is GB2385193.

Advertising Regulations

Please refer to the Town and Country Planning (Control of Advertisements) (England) Regulations 2007. Please check that you are not in a Conservation Area for example where more stringent controls apply. Under Class 5 advertisements must not:

  • Have letters etc. larger than 0.75m.
  • Be illuminated.
  • Be higher than 4.6m above ground.
  • Be higher than a first floor window bottom.
  • For retailers the wall must contain the shop window.

Spinsigns are designed to meet most applications within the Regulations but it is the purchaser’s responsibility to check.

Estate Agents have a further regulatory code. Spinsigns were originally designed by a surveyor for estate agency use as a more effective and efficient alternative to wooden frames and V Boards.

Spinsigns Fixing Instructions

A 12mm masonry drill bit and drill is required. Please ensure that an appropriate, safe platform is used. A 13mm spanner is also required together with a small screwdriver or similar to fix the pole in position to attach/replace the board and hanger.

Fit the pole in the bracket, fixed end to the wall. Remember that these swinging signs will revolve 360 degrees so avoid obstructions above, to the side and below. Position the bracket to the wall, groove uppermost and mark the four hole positions vertically and horizontally into masonry.

The groove in the stem of the bracket must be uppermost to allow the pole to work at the correct angle and allow the pole to be fixed in position when changing boards. The diagonal spaced holes are for additional or alternative support. Drill the marked positions into masonry rather than mortar. Use the plugs provided and fix the bracket to the wall. Fix the pole in position by lining up the groove in the bracket with the hole in the pole, introducing a screwdriver or similar stopper. Place the hanger and board over the pole and fix the drilled cap with the linch pin provided. Remove the screwdriver/stopper.

Ensure that the board doesn't overlap the hanger near the end cap/linch pin.

ALWAYS FIT THE BOARD WITH THE RIBBING AT 90 DEGREES TO THE HANGER. Correx type boards will not last if the ribbing is parallel to the hanger. We recommend 4mm u.v. protected 700 gm Screengrade from Twinplast 01923 230191 as a minimum board specification.
